Tour in the Spotlight

Santa Fe & Taos Tour
July 23 to July 27, 2018

“The City Different” is the perfect title for Santa Fe, New Mexico – a world-renowned travel destination unlike any other city in North America. This 5-day and 4-night motorcoach tour will show you this city known for its rich history, heritage, arts and culture. Day 1 we begin our tour with a pleasant drive from Southern Arizona to Albuquerque and check-in to the Drury Inn. Day 2 we ride the Sandia Tram – the world’s largest aerial tramway. The glass-walled cable car transports us above deep canyons and breathtaking terrain. After a planned lunch, we’ll travel to Santa Fe. Nestled into the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Santa Fe sits at a comfortable elevation of 7,260’. We lodge for 3 nights at the Drury Inn Santa Fe, which is within walking distance of the historic plaza with its many shops, restaurants and churches, and is a terrific location to spend your free time. A guided walking tour will help us discover the rich history and celebrated spirit of this wonderful city filled with famous characters and historic architecture, including Loretto Chapel, home of the miraculous staircase. Our 3rd day we explore world class museums in Santa Fe, starting with a visit to the Georgia O’Keefe Museum. O’Keefe was known as the Mother of American Modernism and permanently moved to New Mexico in 1949. This afternoon we visit Museum Hill for a self-guided tour of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, and tonight have a delicious group dinner. Day 4 we travel to Taos, established in 1615, and tour the Kit Carson Home and Museum. Mr. Carson was a famous Mountain Man and Indian Scout and built this simple home in 1843 for his new bride Josefa Jaramilla. We then have a delicious lunch at El Monte Sagrado before we travel to the Taos Pueblo. Taos Pueblo is an ancient pueblo – approximately 1000 years old – belonging to a Northern Tiwa speaking Native American tribe of Pueblo people, and we will have a local person conduct a walking tour of this fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our 5th day we travel back to Southern Arizona with great memories of this special vacation – Santa Fe and Taos style!
