50th Annual Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

October 1, 2022 thru October 4, 2022

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is the largest balloon event in the US, with some amazing New Mexico scenery that serves as the backdrop for this celebration. This year will be the 50th annual celebration and it promises to be a great time! The Fiesta creates an enchanted world of special shape balloon rodeos, twilight balloon glows, and vibrant balloon-filled skies. Brisk autumnal mornings in the Rio Grande Valley create an otherworldly backdrop for the breathtaking majesty of the most popular event, Mass Ascension of the Balloons. We also visit Santa Fe for lunch and shopping.

We rise early and head out to the Balloon Fiesta grounds where we will view hundreds of hot air balloons involved in a mass ascension. The array of color that fills your eyes when these magical balloons lift off is truly amazing! We visit the Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum to learn about the worldwide history, science, and art of all types of ballooning.

Late morning, we travel to Santa Fe. Upon arrival we’ll enjoy an independent lunch, followed by free time on the famous Santa Fe Plaza to discover the rich history and celebrated spirit of this wonderful city, filled with historic architecture and famous characters. This afternoon we return to our hotel in Albuquerque.

This evening we will be back at the Fiesta grounds for the Balloon Glow, Team Fastrax Skydiving, and Fireworks Show and to enjoy more awesome balloons! (B, D)

After free time on the top of the Sandia Mountains, we return to our hotel for a quiet evening before our trip home tomorrow. (B,L)

ITINERARY

For your reference, we send to you a detailed itinerary approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the scheduled tour departure. This has day-by-day times and events and hotel information where you can be reached in case of an emergency.

The times listed on the itinerary are all approximate. We cannot be held responsible for schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances with weather, transportation agents, highway conditions, hotels or contracting agents.

EMERGENCY CONTACT

It is always a good idea to carry on your person a list of medications that you are taking and an emergency contact phone number while you are traveling. And we suggest making a copy of the itinerary and provide it to a friend or family member.

GRATUITIES/ITEMS INCLUDED IN PRICE

The traditional end-of-tour gratuity to your tour director is not included. If you feel your Tour Director helped you enjoy your tour, we suggest you enclose a gratuity in an envelope and present it individually at the end of the tour. Simply as a guideline, one may consider a per person, per day gratuity of $8.00 per tour guide as an average to be modified by one’s own personal experience. All hotel porterage and airport sky cap (when available) fees are included. We also include the gratuities for the coach/livery drivers.

LIVERY

For your convenience we have a (round-tour) door-to-door pickup service with each multi-day tour. (This service is not available to all clients depending on your location.) Approximately 2 to 3 days prior to the departure date you will receive a call from our office and we will tell you your assigned pickup time. (These times can vary up to 15 minutes depending on traffic.)

If you would like to request special accommodations at the hotel(s) where we are lodging, please call us as soon as possible and we will forward these requests for you. The phone numbers of the hotel(s) where we are staying are listed on the itinerary.
