Day 1 - Tucson to Long Beach

We fly from Tucson to Long Beach, California where we check in for our one night stay at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown in the heart of Long Beach. You can rest easy knowing you’ll be on time for cruise departure in the morning.

Day 2 – Cruise Departs

This morning enjoy free time; perhaps visiting in the Long Beach Entertainment District where you can visit the Aquarium of the Pacific, or do some last minute shopping or walk along the harbor and grab a bite to eat. Around noon, we board the Norwegian Bliss, which was set to sea in 2018 and features a revolutionary Observation Lounge for you to soak in every stunning moment of your voyage. Come aboard and experience the best dining, entertainment and amenities at sea. Your stylish and sophisticated balcony stateroom features floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening to your own private balcony (Upgrade to Mini Suites or “The Haven” available, based on availability and pricing at time of request.) Tonight, we set sail to Mexico. (D)

Day 3 – At Sea

Enjoy a day at sea. The Bliss offers plenty of dining options, a spa, entertainment and a casino. At the Mandara Spa you can experience over 50 specialty treatments plus their Vitality Pool or perhaps the Salt Room, a dramatic grotto surrounded with layers of body-cleansing salt crystals. Scheduled shows include Jersey Boys, which recounts the story of the band The Four Seasons, and SIX, a new Broadway musical about the wives of Henry XIII. In addition to the many included restaurants on board, you’ll have access on 2 nights of your choice to specialty dining restaurants, including Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville at Sea as well as unique Mexican, Italian, French, Seafood, Teppanyaki, BBQ & more experiences.(B,L,D)

Day 4 – Cabo San Lucas

This morning we arrive in Cabo San Lucas. Shore excursions are available for booking and each cabin receives $50 credit toward one of your choice in each port. In Cabo we suggest a boat tour of this longest, most photographed peninsula in the world. See miles of pristine beaches, towering rock formations and the famed El Arco (“The Arch”) – Cabo’s signature landmark – a rock formation dramatically jutting from the sea at the tip of “Land’s End.” Enjoy a complimentary beverage aboard the boat while learning about the underwater life, the colorful history of Baja California and its fragile ecology. Or just spend time exploring on your own. In the afternoon our cruise continues with an overnight sailing to Mazatlán. (B,L,D)

Day 5 – Mazatlán

Combine a first-class beach resort with a city with an illustrious colonial past and you’ve got Mazatlán. Sip on some Margaritas and enjoy the authentic Mexican cuisine. Take in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains and visit the many shops offering local crafts. Once again you can either use your shore excursion credit or explore the town on your own. Back on ship we sail overnight to Puerto Vallarta. (B,L,D)

Day 6 – Christmas Eve in Puerto Vallarta

This morning we venture ashore to Puerto Vallarta. Smaller and more subdued than Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta has retained a good deal of its small village charm along with 26 miles of spectacular beaches along the Banderas Bay. Our recommended tour in this port travels along the main highway to Old Town, along the city’s cobblestone streets for a stop at City Hall and the Cathedral of the Lady of Guadalupe. Pass the elegant area of Conchas Chinas on your way to the southern end of town. Finally, stop at a charming restaurant for a complimentary beverage before heading to Old Town for some shopping. Or you may choose to explore on your own and return to the ship in the afternoon. This evening we set sail back toward California. (B,L,D)

Day 7 – Christmas at Sea

Wake up Christmas morning to a day at sea! Tonight, we’ll gather at one of the ship’s specialty restaurants to celebrate the holiday and the wonderful cruise as a group. (B,L,D)

Day 8 – At Sea

Enjoy a final full day and night of cruising on the Pacific Ocean. Don’t forget to visit the spa or do some shopping with your $100 onboard credit per cabin.(B,L,D)

Day 9 – Return Home

Our ship arrives into Los Angles in the morning. From there we transfer to LAX airport to fly home. (B)

ITINERARY

For your reference, we send to you a detailed itinerary approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the scheduled tour departure. This has day-by-day times and events, hotel information where you can be reached in case of an emergency, and airline information.

ACTIVITY LEVEL RATING

Level 2: Relaxed

Expectations: This tour requires light physical activity combined with shorter travel days. Tour members should expect intermittent walking, with occasional slight inclines and stair climbs, including boarding the cruise ship. Activities may include an occasional city or nature walking tour, stopping along the way. Guests should be able to climb a set of stairs, walk up or down slight slopes and navigate some uneven terrain or cobblestone.

Appropriate for: Travelers who are somewhat physically fit and comfortable with longer days of touring and able to cruise.

Visit our Activity Level Ratings page under Plan Your Tour for full information on the ratings system.

EMERGENCY CONTACT

It is always a good idea to carry on your person a list of medications that you are taking and an emergency contact phone number while you are traveling. And we suggest making a copy of the itinerary and provide it to a friend or family member.

GRATUITIES/ITEMS INCLUDED IN PRICE

The traditional end-of-tour gratuity to your tour director is not included. If you feel your Tour Director helped you enjoy your tour, we suggest you enclose a gratuity in an envelope and present it individually at the end of the tour. Simply as a guideline, one may consider a per person, per day gratuity of $8.00 per tour guide as an average to be modified by one’s own personal experience. All hotel porterage fees are included. We also include the gratuities for the coach/livery drivers. Maid tips are not included.

LIVERY

For your convenience we have a (round-tour) door-to-door pickup service with each multi-day tour. (This service is not available to all clients depending on your location.) Approximately 2 to 3 days prior to the departure date you will receive a call from our office and we will tell you your assigned pickup time. (These times can vary up to 15 minutes depending on traffic.)

LODGING REQUESTS

If you would like to request special accommodations at the hotel(s) where we are lodging, please call us as soon as possible and we will forward these requests for you. The phone numbers of the hotel(s) where we are staying are listed on the itinerary.

Many hotels around the country have instituted a "reconditioning fee" of $300 or more that is levied upon a guest that smokes in a non-smoking room. If this occurs during our tour you will be responsible for paying this fee to the hotel prior to check-out.

TRAVEL REQUESTS

We pay close attention to your requests but please realize that these are merely requests and cannot be guaranteed.

WEATHER AND CLOTHING/MISC. SUGGESTIONS

Daytime: Norwegian Cruise Line maintains a casual atmosphere onboard and this is reflected in its dress code. During the day, casual is the name of the game, with swimsuits, shorts and tees the norm in warm-weather destinations, and warmer clothing more common in Mexico.

Evening: There's not much of a formal dress code at night either; But two of the specialty restaurants (Ocean Blue and Le Bistro) do require long pants, a collared shirt and closed shoes. Generally speaking, dark jeans or khakis and collared shirts are the norm for the men, while women don blouses with slacks or skirts, or sundresses. (Bring a cardigan or a wrap for when the A/C is too high.) Norwegian doesn't have formal nights, but passengers are urged to dress up for the line's Norwegian's Night Out, held once per cruise on weeklong sailings. You'll rarely see a tux or gown, but suits and cocktail dresses are not unheard of.

Not permitted: Tank tops and baseball caps are prohibited in the main dining room and specialty restaurants. Shoes must be worn in all dining venues at all times.

Please be sure to bring a sweater and / or light winter jacket, along with good walking shoes, hat and gloves. There are no dress codes for the areas we take you to on this tour.
