Once you have recharged your batteries, it’s time for your Kenyan experience to begin – our first visit is to the Giraffe center which houses a breeding center for the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and where you will have an opportunity to hand feed the resident giraffes. Later we will continue to Nairobi National Park for a game drive (this is the only City-located National Park in the World). If we are lucky, we may have the chance to see lions, giraffes, buffalo, & rhino amongst others. We will also enjoy a visit to the Animal Orphanage which is located at the Park entrance & which serves as a treatment & rehabilitation center for wild animals including lion, cheetah, leopard, monkeys & buffalo, plus many species of bird.

As night falls, we will enjoy our first African dinner at the incredible and unique Carnivore Restaurant known for the ‘Beast of a Feast! A wide range of roasted meats including ostrich, Crocodile & Camel plus soups, salads & a selection of desserts are served!  For your pleasure, we have also included 2 beers or 2 glasses of wine per person with dinner. Following our dinner, we will drive to our hotel, Sarova Stanley for check-in and overnight (B,D)

Day 3 - Maasai Mara National Park

Early wake-up call prior to enjoying your full Breakfast and then your Safari begins – we will drive to the World famous Maasai Mara Reserve with a stopover on the way at the Great Rift Valley View Point. Look out for the rock hyrax which can often be seen lazing on the rocks nearby.  Continue the drive to Eagle View Luxury Tented Camp which will be our home for the next 3 nights, we should arrive in time for a late lunch. Check-in and relax until your first game drive until sunset. Eagle View, named by National Geographic as one of the top 25 Eco Lodges in the World, is located on a natural hilltop overlooking a waterhole in the Naibosho Conservancy (the Conservancy is privately owned land adjacent to Maasai Mara). The area is famed as it has the highest density of Lions in Africa. Other large animals you can expect to see include Elephants, Giraffe & Wildebeest. On your return, you will enjoy an amazing dinner back at the lodge. (B,L,D)

This is a unique experience which is only permitted inside private conservancies. The Activity Level for this tour is Active.

Expectations: The tour includes well-paced walking tours with regular breaks. Up to 2-3 hours of walking each day. To fully take advantage of all this tour has to offer, guests need to be able to walk longer distances, climb several flights of stairs and navigate steps and uneven terrain walking for extended periods of time over more difficult terrain (e.g. cobblestones, city hills, stairs without handrails, limited or no access to elevators). Your itinerary can include significant changes in temperature and altitude and may require a higher number of longer travel days with morning and/or evening activities. Most trips will feature long touring days, many full-day excursions and a full and active itinerary with a faster pace and longer distances. Excursions require standing and walking to city centers where coaches are prohibited.

Appropriate for: Travelers who are physically fit, expect a vigorous pace and enjoy participating in two to three hours of physical activity per day.

It is always a good idea to carry on your person a list of medications that you are taking and an emergency contact phone number while you are traveling. And we suggest making a copy of the itinerary and provide it to a friend or family member.

All hotel baggage handling fees are included. We also include basic gratuities for the Tour Director, Coach Driver, Livery Drivers and local Tour Guides. If someone has truly gone above and beyond additional tipping is permitted, but never required.

(These times can vary up to 15 minutes depending on traffic.)

If you would like to request special accommodations at the hotel(s) where we are lodging, please call us as soon as possible and we will forward these requests for you. The phone numbers of the hotel(s) where we are staying are listed on the itinerary.

There is no smoking in the lodges and tents. A "reconditioning fee" of $300 or more that is levied upon a guest that smokes in a non-smoking room. If this occurs during our tour you will be responsible for paying this fee to the hotel prior to check-out.
