(Not Your Average) Tucson Day Tour
September 17, 2019
Join us for an out-of-this-world day as we combine three of Tucson’s great venues that you may not have visited!
We begin with a visit to the cool, air-conditioned Arizona State Museum. Experience the ancient indigenous and enduring Native cultures of the region through content-rich exhibits, dynamic docent tours, engaging programs, enriching travel tours, hands-on workshops, a research library, and an educational museum store. Established in 1893, Arizona State Museum is the oldest and largest anthropological research museum in the Southwest, with expansive collections that are exceptional resources for the study, teaching, and appreciation of the region’s 13,000-year human history.
Afterwards we enjoy a terrific lunch at the Tanque Verde Ranch – one of America’s old-time cattle and guest ranches – ranked in the Top 10 Resorts in the United States by Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Awards and located on 60,000 acres of Tucson’s most breathtaking desert landscapes, nestled amongst the Rincon Mountains and adjacent to Saguaro National Park and Coronado National Forest.
Then our expert guide and driver take you on a spectacular guided tour to the top of the (cooler!) Santa Catalina Mountains to Mt Lemmon. We see Saguaro, Ponderosa Pine, and deciduous forests, stunning peaks and varied fauna as we climb to 9200 ft. It’s usually 20 degrees cooler than at the mountain base, which is welcome summer relief.
