Day 1 - Glendale & Wickenburg

We travel north to central Arizona by way of two stops. First, we tour and taste at Glendale’s famed Cerreta Candy Company. You’ll learn how the chocolate is made, sample and perhaps purchase some holiday goodies. We continue to a delicious lunch at Rancho de los Caballeros before making our way into Prescott. After our arrival In Prescott, we take a guided walking tour of the Historic Square, before checking in for our 3-night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Prescott Downtown. (L)

Day 2 - Jerome

This morning we visit the ghost town of Jerome, once home to over 15,000 people and known as the “wildest town in the west”. We visit Jerome State Historic Park, which provides incredible views of the city and the surrounding Verde Valley and is a fantastic historical resource devoted to the preservation of the city of Jerome. We will have free time on Main Street to shop and enjoy an independent lunch before returning to Prescott for a wonderful treat of high tea at the Hassayampa Inn, built in 1927 and featuring a famous art nouveau-styled bar. (B, HT)

Day 3 - Prescott

This morning we visit the historic Sharlot Hall Museum. Opened in 1928 as the Old Governor’s Mansion Museum, it is dedicated to preserving the history and folklore of Yavapai County. Take the day to enjoy Prescott at your leisure and discover the quaint shops, restaurants, and western culture and charm of this beautiful mountainous town. This evening, we return to Hassayampa Inn for an exquisite dinner before experiencing the JS Acker Musical Extravaganza downtown.  The nearly 80 shops, boutiques and local businesses around the town square host various musical talents. You will hear jazz, classical, country, pop and bluegrass while strolling around Courthouse Plaza enjoying the sights and sounds of Christmas. (B,D)

Day 4 - Arcosanti

On our way back to Tucson we’ll stop in the little town of Mayer to tour Arcosanti, the world’s first prototype arcology. Built as an experimental project to model sustainable living in harmony with the natural world, this urban laboratory turned out to be quite the magnificent marvel. After touring, we continue to Black Canyon City and enjoy lunch and the legendary homemade pie at Rock Springs Café. We then continue back to Tucson. (B,L)
