Day 1 - Tucson to San Diego

Today we travel to San Diego, famous for its miles and miles of white-sand beach, amazing weather and abundance of things to see and do. We check in to Springhill Suites Hotel Downtown Bayfront for our four-night stay. We enjoy a group welcome dinner to kick off our holiday weekend. (D)

Day 2 – San Diego Waterfront & Symphony

This morning we enjoy the best that San Diego’s Bayfront has to offer. We start with a visit to the USS Midway Museum. This afternoon we take a relaxing cruise on San Diego Bay. What a great way to celebrate this glorious city on a holiday weekend! Enjoy some leisure time on the waterfront and an independent dinner before seeing the San Diego Symphony’s Star-Spangled Pops! Tonight, is a patriotic extravaganza, with all-American hits from Main Street to Broadway – complete with John Phillip Souza marches, a tribute to the military and a spectacular firework display to light up the night sky! Relax in your reserved seats at the Embarcadero Marina Park and enjoy the sweet summer breeze off the harbor! (B)

Day 3 – Independence Day

Today is a relaxing day, starting with a visit to Point Loma Peninsula and Cabrillo National Monument. Climbing out of his boat and onto shore in 1542, Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo stepped into history as the first European to set foot on what is now the West Coast of the United States. In addition to telling the story of 16th century exploration, the park is home to a wealth of cultural and natural resources. Join us and embark on your own Voyage of Exploration. After an independent dinner, you can watch California’s largest firework display, the Big Bay Boom, from many points along the Bayfront just a few steps from our Hotel. (B)

Day 4 – Balboa Park & Old Town

This morning we start our day with a trolley tour of San Diego. The friendly conductor narrates the San Diego tour with a fascinating and fun mix of trivia and humorous stories. It will be our pleasure to guide you through the birthplace of California. The conductor will drop us off at Balboa Park. We have our choice of visiting the zoo or any or all of 4 other museums in the Park including the Air and Space Museum, Natural History Museum and Automotive Museum, and many others. The San Diego Zoo houses over 3,700 animals of more than 650 species, and was a pioneer in the concept of open-air, cage-less exhibits that re-create natural animal habitats. It is one of the few zoos in the world that houses and successfully breeds the giant panda. The San Diego Zoo has the distinction of being one of the oldest zoological parks in the world. Tonight, we have a special farewell dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants. (B,D)

Day 5 – Return to Arizona

Today, after breakfast, we board our motorcoach and travel home to Tucson. (B)

Activities may include an occasional city or nature walking tour, stopping along the way. Guests should be able to climb a set of stairs, walk up or down slight slopes and navigate some uneven terrain or cobblestone.

For your reference, we send to you a detailed itinerary approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the scheduled tour departure. This has day-by-day times and events, hotel information where you can be reached in case of an emergency, and airline information.

The times listed on the itinerary are all approximate. We cannot be held responsible for schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances with the weather, transportation agents, highway conditions, hotels or contracting agents.

It is always a good idea to carry on your person a list of medications that you are taking and an emergency contact phone number while you are traveling. And we suggest making a copy of the itinerary and provide it to a friend or family member.

All hotel baggage handling fees are included. We also include basic gratuities for the Tour Director, Coach Driver, Livery Drivers and local Tour Guides. If someone has truly gone above and beyond additional tipping is permitted, but never required.

For your convenience, we have a (round-tour) door-to-door pickup service with each multi-day tour. (This service is not available to all clients depending on your location.) Approximately 2 to 3 days prior to the departure date you will receive a call from our office and we will tell you your assigned pickup time. (These times can vary up to 15 minutes depending on traffic.)

With passenger health in mind, we are not currently offering daily seat rotation. You will have an assigned seat and boarding order to allow for social distancing among passengers. At booking let us know if you prefer Front, Middle or Back of motorcoach. Each section comprises 4 to 5 rows. We will try to accommodate all requests. If we are unable to honor all requests, preference will be given based on date of your tour deposit.

If you would like to request special accommodations at the hotel(s) where we are lodging, please call us as soon as possible and we will forward these requests for you. The phone numbers of the hotel(s) where we are staying are listed on the itinerary.

Many hotels around the country have instituted a "reconditioning fee" of $300 or more that is levied upon a guest that smokes in a non-smoking room. If this occurs during our tour you will be responsible for paying this fee to the hotel prior to check-out.

We pay close attention to your requests but please realize that these are merely requests and cannot be guaranteed.

Pleasurebent Tours acts solely as an agent in arranging hotels, transportation, sightseeing, baggage-handling, and other services and does not assume any liability for injury, damage, loss or delay due to any act or default of any company or person.
