Itinerary
Day 1 - Tucson to La Jolla
This morning we depart Tucson and head west by motorcoach to the beautiful ocean side town of La Jolla, CA, where we check in to the beautiful Grande Colonial for our 4-night stay. You’ll love this highly-rated, comfortable boutique hotel perfectly situated to enjoy the best of LaJolla, all within walking distance. Tonight, we enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Meal – Dinner
Day 2 - Explore La Jolla
Today we soak in the coast and beach. We tour La Jolla and La Jolla Cove. The waters surrounding the Cove are part of the 6,000 acre La Jolla Underwater Park, which includes an Ecological Reserve. This means there is ample wildlife, such as seals, barracuda, opaleye, giant sea bass, baitfish and orange garibaldi. After lunch at one of the fine restaurants in La Jolla, we tour the Map and Atlas Museum, a private collection sampling 500 years of cartography, with over 200 items on display, many one of a kind. Then we visit the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Meals – Breakfast, Lunch
Day 3 - Wines & More!
This morning we tour Queen Califia’s Magical Circle – a fascinating sculpture garden that is one of the last works of Franco-American artist Niki de Saint Phalle. The garden is named after Califia, the fictional warrior queen of the mythical Island of California and inspired by California’s rich history and culture. Then we are on to Keys Creek Lavender Farm to explore more earthly senses. And to cap off our afternoon, we enjoy a special winery tour and tasting at Callaway Vineyard and Winery in Temecula. Meals – Breakfast
Day 4 - Gardens & Missions
Today we visit the San Diego Botanic Garden. At 37 acres, the garden includes rare bamboo groves, desert gardens, a tropical rainforest, California native plants, Mediterranean climate landscapes, and a subtropical fruit garden. Next, we tour the California Surf Museum, dedicated to surfboards, surf art, memorabilia and more. We then visit Old Mission San Luis Rey de Francia, founded in 1798 and known as the “King of the Missions,” and a National Historic Landmark. The largest of all the 21 California missions, it is home to a community of Franciscan Friars and a special place to visit. Tonight, we wind down our busy day with a farewell dinner. Meals – Breakfast & Dinner
Day 5 - Return to Tucson
After a relaxing morning with perhaps a walk on the beach, we depart back to Tucson with memories of the sand and surf of Coastal Southern California. Upon arrival in Tucson, we deliver you to your door with our livery service. Meal – Breakfast

The times listed on the itinerary are all approximate. We cannot be held responsible for schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances with the weather, transportation agents, highway conditions, hotels or contracting agents.

It is always a good idea to carry on your person a list of medications that you are taking and an emergency contact phone number while you are traveling. And we suggest making a copy of the itinerary and provide it to a friend or family member.
