Day 1 - Tucson to Glendale
This morning we board our deluxe motorcoach and head west to Pasadena, California. We’ll have a welcome dinner and check in for our 4-night stay at the Marriott Courtyard, which has a nightly reception with drinks and appetizers that you can enjoy throughout your stay. Each morning you’ll also have a full breakfast buffet at the hotel. The excellent hotel location puts us within 8 miles of the parade and all the attractions visited on this tour, limiting the time spent on the motorcoach while in California. (D)
Day 2 - Pasadena
Today we will explore the history and architecture of Pasadena beginning at the iconic Gamble House, an American Craftsman home in Pasadena, California, designed by the architectural firm Greene and Greene. We’ll also see other beautiful homes in the area as we make our way to Descanso Gardens where we will have lunch and time to explore the gardens, galleries and historic buildings on site. After some free time at the hotel in the late afternoon, we venture out to view the Hollywood sign and the stars over the city via telescopes guided by astronomers. (B,L)
Day 3 – New Year’s Eve
Our exciting day begins at the Rose Bowl Stadium where we can observe the creation and decorating of the flower-laden floats that you will see in the parade the following day. Then we continue to Griffith Park where The Autry Museum of the American West features world-class galleries filled with Native American art and cultural materials, film memorabilia, historic firearms, paintings, interactive areas and more. You’ll have some free time to use the park shuttle to visit free attractions like the Griffith Observatory or the Travel Town Museum. Tonight, we’ll have a New Year’s celebration dinner at restaurant near the hotel. (B,D)
Day 4 - New Years Day
Happy New Year! This morning we’ll take our reserved grandstand seats that provide us a great view of the most photographed event in the world — the Tournament of Roses Parade! All of America’s eyes will be on Pasadena as the breathtaking floats roll down Colorado Blvd. This year’s theme is “Dream. Believe. Achieve.” It promises to be a parade full of fun, flowers, music and memories! Your package includes an official commemorative pin and seat cushion. Following the parade, we’ll have a lovely final afternoon in California at the Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens, returning to the hotel for a quiet evening. (B)
Day 5 - Travel Home
After breakfast, we travel back to Tucson with many happy memories of the Tournament of Roses Parade and other festivities. Join this tour and ring in the New Year with us! (B)

For your reference, we send to you a detailed itinerary approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the scheduled tour departure. This has day-by-day times and events, hotel information, and where you can be reached in case of an emergency.
The times listed on the itinerary are all approximate. We cannot be held responsible for schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances with the weather, transportation agents, highway conditions, hotels or contracting agents.
It is always a good idea to carry on your person a list of medications that you are taking and an emergency contact phone number while you are traveling. And we suggest making a copy of the itinerary and provide it to a friend or family member.
GRATUITIES/ITEMS INCLUDED IN PRICE
The traditional end-of-tour gratuity to your tour director is not included. If you feel your Tour Director helped you enjoy your tour, we suggest you enclose a gratuity in an envelope and present it individually at the end of the tour. Simply as a guideline, one may consider a per person, per day gratuity of $8.00 per tour guide as an average to be modified by one’s own personal experience. All hotel porterage and airport skycap (when available) fees are included. We also include the gratuities for the coach/livery drivers.
For your convenience, we have a (round-tour) door-to-door pickup service with each multi-day tour. (This service is not available to all clients depending on your location.) Approximately 2 to 3 days prior to the departure date you will receive a call from our office and we will tell you your assigned pickup time. (These times can vary up to 15 minutes depending on traffic.)
If you would like to request special accommodations at the hotel(s) where we are lodging, please call us as soon as possible and we will forward these requests for you. The phone numbers of the hotel(s) where we are staying are listed on the itinerary.
Many hotels around the country have instituted a "reconditioning fee" of $300 or more that is levied upon a guest that smokes in a non-smoking room. If this occurs during our tour you will be responsible for paying this fee to the hotel prior to check-out.
We pay close attention to your requests but please realize that these are merely requests and cannot be guaranteed.
